🔍 Reflection & Application
First Reading (Romans 15:14-21)
Reflection: St Paul expresses confidence in the Christian community’s goodness and knowledge, saying they are capable of admonishing one another in love. He also speaks of his own mission to proclaim the Gospel to the Gentiles.
Application: Ask yourself: How am I contributing to the encouragement and growth of others in faith? Am I using my gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ, not just for myself? Consider how you can support someone spiritually this week.
Psalm (Ps 98)
Reflection: The Psalm reminds us that God’s salvation has been revealed not just to Israel but to all nations. The right hand of the Lord has done mighty deeds.
Application: Reflect on how God’s saving power has been shown in your life or in the lives of others. Let it move you to praise and to share the good news. Maybe commit to one concrete act of witness or service.
Gospel (Luke 16:1-8)
Reflection: The parable of the dishonest steward is a challenging one. The steward acts shrewdly to secure his future after losing his job. Jesus uses this to teach about the wise use of worldly goods—and about the children of light being prudent.
Application: Consider: What are you stewarding? Time, talents, resources? Are you using them in view of eternity, or merely for comfort today? Make a concrete decision: perhaps to re-evaluate how you use your resources for the Kingdom, maybe giving more generously or rearranging priorities to align more with eternal values.
🙌 Closing Prayer
Father, you show us how to live wisely and faithfully. Strengthen us by your grace so that we may use our lives, our gifts, and our resources for your glory and for the service of others. May your Word bear fruit in us today and every day, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
